Privacy policy

What personal data BIDR collects, why we need it, and the choices you have under UK GDPR.

Last updated 2026

1. What we collect

Account data: name, email, phone number and role.

Job data: your vehicle details, the problem you describe, photos you upload, the approximate area of your job and — once a booking is secured — the exact location needed for the provider to reach you.

Provider data: business details, service area, insurance and waste information and documents you upload for checks.

Transaction data: prices, fees, payment status and payout status.

Safety data: messages sent through BIDR and flags raised by our automated contact-sharing checks.

2. Why we use it

To match jobs to providers who cover your area, to run the booking and payment flow, to keep the marketplace safe, to handle disputes and refunds, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations.

Our lawful bases are performance of a contract, legitimate interests in operating a safe marketplace, and legal obligation.

3. Location

Before payment, providers see only an approximate area — never your exact address or coordinates.

After a booking is secured, the accepted provider sees the exact location so they can reach you. Provider location is shared with you only while they are actively travelling to your job.

4. Sharing

We share the minimum necessary with the provider you book, with our hosting, database and payment processors, and with authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell personal data.

5. Retention

Job, payment and audit records are kept for as long as needed for accounting, tax and dispute purposes. Uploaded documents are kept while an account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards.

6. Your rights

You can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy of your data, and object to certain processing. Contact bidrsupport@gmail.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
